Distribution FAQ
Clear answers before you release.
Music distribution should not require guesswork. Here is how APR approaches delivery, review, rights, royalties, communication and the discovery network.
The short version: if something needs attention, we explain it. If we make a decision, we show the reason. If you need to act, we show the next step.
Getting started
What is APR Distribution?
APR is an artist-led distribution product being built to connect release delivery with human-curated discovery, autonomous radio, listener intelligence and verifiable Proof of Airplay.
Can I create an account now?
Yes. You can create a real organization, artist profile and persistent release draft today. DSP delivery opens progressively through controlled early access.
Who is APR for?
Independent artists, AI-music artists, labels and managers who want a clearer release journey and a discovery layer that continues after delivery.
How fast will my release be distributed?
Complete, low-risk releases should move without unnecessary delay. Timing depends on review, rights, destination requirements and the selected delivery partner. If something blocks the release, our product is designed to tell you what and why.
Review and communication
Will a human answer me?
That is a core product principle. Important holds, change requests and decisions should be communicated with context. We are building communication into the workflow instead of hiding it behind a generic support queue.
What happens if something is wrong?
The release receives a clear status, the blocking issue is identified and you get a practical next step. We prefer correction and dialogue before rejection whenever the issue can genuinely be resolved.
Can APR reject or pause a release?
Yes. Rights uncertainty, impersonation, misleading metadata, suspicious activity or provider requirements may require changes, a pause or rejection. The difference should be that you understand the reason.
Rights, music and ownership
Do I keep ownership of my music?
Yes. Distribution does not transfer your underlying ownership to APR. You must have the rights and permissions required for the audio, artwork, composition, samples, metadata and territories you submit.
Do you accept AI music?
APR is built around the AI-music economy. AI-assisted or AI-generated work is welcome when the submitter can truthfully make the required rights declarations and follow destination rules.
Does APR upload my music to its public servers?
Raw release assets are intended to be held privately for validation and delivery, never exposed as permanent public file URLs. APR Radio and the public discovery surfaces are separate from private distribution storage.
Royalties and the APR network
How are royalties handled?
Confirmed provider statements, fees, adjustments, splits and payouts are designed to remain traceable. Estimated analytics and finalized royalties are shown as different things.
Does distribution guarantee radio or playlist placement?
No. Distribution and editorial selection are separate. Human curators decide what enters playlists and radio; paying for distribution does not buy a placement.
What is Proof of Airplay?
APR Signal Ledger turns qualifying radio activity and listener response into a verifiable, shareable record so a play does not simply disappear when the song ends.
What makes APR different?
Most distributors end at delivery. APR is building one connected path from release preparation to delivery, discovery, audience response, proof and future artist value — with communication as a first-class feature.
